John graduated from Alfred University
in 1964 with a degree in Ceramic Engineering.
After two years as an officer in the Army Ordnance Corps, he
joined the Norton Co. in July 1966 as a Product Engineer for induction
furnace refractories. He
also served as a Manufacturing Control Engineer in Norton’s Armor
Program and as a Refractory Sales Engineer before joining Allied Mineral
Products.
John is a member of the American Ceramic Society,
American Foundry Society and served two years as the Chairman of The
Refractories Institute, an industry trade association.
In 2005, he served as President of UNITCER 2005, an international
technical conference on refractories held in Orlando, Florida.
John and his wife, Elizabeth, are residents of Powell, Ohio
along with their two children and their families which include four
grandchildren.
