Press Release

October 19, 2007

Allied Mineral Products (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (AMT) celebrated the opening of its expanded manufacturing space on October 19, 2007.  The 8,362 sq. m (nearly 90,000 sq. ft.) expansion was added to the current 16,000 sq. m manufacturing area (172,220 sq. ft.).  The addition provides space for the new China Precast Refractories (CPR) operation and a new research center.  CPR will manufacture pre-cast, pre-fired refractory shapes for China and Asian markets.  The research center will develop new products and assist in qualifying raw materials sources in addition to conducting research into new refractory technology and materials.

The addition, dubbed AMT III, is an important step in supporting AMT’s strong growth in China and the surrounding Asian markets.  The addition improved flexibility on existing manufacturing lines while making room for CPR.  Precast refractory shapes are an exciting market for China, and CPR will be able to ‘hit the ground running’ through assistance from Allied’s American Precast Refractories division based in Columbus, Ohio.

The grand opening ceremony featured speakers Mr. Jon K. Tabor, Mr. John Turner and Mr. Tom Gibson of Allied Mineral Products Columbus, Ohio.  Each spoke of AMT’s rapid growth and bright future.   Also speaking at the event was an officer from Tanguu Marine and High-Tech Development area, the region where AMT is located near Tianjin.  He also expressed positive comments about AMT and its growth.  A luncheon followed the ceremony for AMT employees and guests.

Congratulations to AMT on another successful expansion!
